Why I Built This

I've been a therapist for 15 years. I've worked in agencies. I've been on insurance panels. I've done the grind of fighting for reimbursements, dealing with audits, and watching my rates get dictated by people who have never sat across from a client.

And I've also built a thriving private pay practice that sustains me.

The difference wasn't luck. It wasn't a secret marketing hack. It was doing the internal work on my relationship with money, getting clear on who I serve, and refusing to let insurance companies or anyone else tell me what my time is worth.

When I started the Private Pay Practitioners Facebook group, I just wanted a space for therapists to talk honestly about building independent practices. That group now has over 15,000 members.

But I kept noticing the same thing: therapists weren't struggling because they lacked business knowledge. They were struggling because of money trauma, codependency with clients, and deep-rooted beliefs about what they were allowed to charge.

I watched therapists reduce their rates after clients stayed longer — rewarding loyalty by earning less. I saw practitioners assume what their clients could afford before the client ever said a word. I heard stories of therapists carrying unpaid balances for months because they couldn't have a direct conversation about money.

This isn't a business problem. It's a healing problem.

I created Private Pay Practitioners Premium because the free group can only go so deep. To really shift how you show up in your practice, you need more than peer support. You need resources. You need structure. And for some of you, you need direct access to someone who's been where you are and made it to the other side.

That's what Premium is for.

What Every Paid Member Gets

No matter which tier you choose, you get access to the full resource library:

Weekly Live Zoom Calls — Join me live to learn, ask questions, and connect with other practitioners building alongside you. Replays available if you can't make it.

Mindset Mondays — Start your week with intention. These prompts are designed to shift how you think about your practice, your worth, and your boundaries.

Midweek Truth Drops — Short, direct reminders to keep you grounded and moving forward when the doubt creeps in.

Monthly Vault Drops — Each month, you get a themed resource package with worksheets, templates, checklists, and tools you can actually use. No fluff. Just practical material to help you build.

The Difference Between Tiers

Every paid tier gets the same resources. The difference is the amount of direct coaching and access you get from me.

🎧 Podcast — $7/month

You're not ready to dive in yet, and that's okay. Maybe you're still on insurance panels, still figuring out if private pay is even possible for you. This tier gives you access to the Private Pay Practitioners podcast — real conversations about what it takes to build a practice on your own terms. Listen on your commute, between sessions, whenever you need a reminder that another way exists. No pressure. Just perspective.

Best for: Practitioners who are curious but not ready to take action yet.

📘 Essential — $10/month

You want the resources without the group coaching. Essential gives you access to everything — weekly live Zoom calls, Mindset Mondays, Midweek Truth Drops, and monthly vault drops with worksheets, templates, and checklists. You're getting the full library and the weekly rhythm. You're just not ready for a coaching component yet, and that's fine. Some practitioners work best learning on their own timeline.

Best for: Self-directed practitioners who want all the resources but prefer to work independently.

🌱 Community — $20/month

You want more than resources — you want guided support. Community gives you everything in Essential PLUS 30 minutes of group coaching with me each month. This is where you bring your questions, get real-time feedback, and hear what other practitioners are navigating. You're not doing this alone anymore. The resources tell you what to do. The coaching helps you figure out why you're not doing it.

Best for: Practitioners actively building who want accountability and monthly coaching.

🔥 Founders — $45/month

You're stuck on something specific and you need more than 30 minutes a month. Founders gives you everything in Community PLUS a full hour of group coaching each month and unlimited email access to me between sessions. When something comes up — a referral source that ghosted you, a pricing conversation that went sideways, a decision you're second-guessing — you can reach out directly. I know my Founders by name and I'm invested in where you're going.

Best for: Practitioners who need deeper coaching, more time, and direct access between calls.

This Isn't Just About Leaving Insurance

Let me be clear about something: I'm not anti-insurance. I'm anti-therapists destroying themselves trying to survive in a system that was never designed to sustain them.

If you're happy on panels and it's working for you, great. But if you're burned out, underpaid, and resentful — and you keep telling yourself there's no other way — that's what I'm here to challenge.

I also want you to know what you're walking into when you use platforms like Headway, Alma, Grow Therapy, or Rula. These are marketed as therapist-friendly alternatives. What most practitioners don't know is that they're owned by the same insurance companies you're trying to escape. Blue Cross Blue Shield. Cigna. Optum. Amazon.

Research shows 85% of therapists say they wouldn't use these platforms if they knew insurance companies owned them. But 70% have no idea.

Private pay isn't about being against something. It's about building something sustainable that YOU control.

Who This Is For

This community is for therapists who are ready to stop waiting for permission to build something different.

You might already be fully private-pay, but struggling to fill your caseload.

You might be on panels and dreaming about leaving, but terrified to make the leap.

You might be charging less than you need because you can't stomach the money conversation.

You might be full but exhausted because your rates don't actually sustain your life.

If any of that sounds familiar, you're in the right place.

What This Is NOT

This is not a get-rich-quick scheme.

This is not a magic formula that fills your practice overnight.

This is not someone telling you to "just charge more" without helping you understand why you're not.

This is real work. It requires you to look at your money story, your boundaries, and your beliefs about what you deserve. It requires consistency. It requires showing up even when it's uncomfortable.
